Naked Cherry Palette
For the longest time, I’ve always been a fan of cherries. From the cherry print; to the actual fruit, and most definitely the maraschino cherries in yummy cocktails. This love of cherries exploded when I found out that cherries would be the focus of the latest Urban Decay Naked palette.
The Shades
A balance between mattes and shimmers, with 12 new shades. I love wearing mattes for daytime looks and then sprucing them up with shimmers for when I go out. With this palette, Urban Decay decided to focus more on the pinkish, berry-toned hues as opposed to bright red. I do think a dark red would’ve been fab in the palette though.
Shades included:
Hot Spot (ivory matte)
Caution (soft neutral beige matte)
Bang Bang (shimmering pink with gold shift and iridescent micro-sparkle)
Feelz (soft dusty rose matte)
Juicy (soft warm peach)
Turn On (pale metallic rose shimmer)
Ambitious (metallic rose copper)
Bing (deep mauve matte)
Devilish (reddish plum matte)
Young Love (metallic cranberry)
Drunk Dial (deep metallic burgundy)
Privacy (deep brownish-plum matte)
Packaging; Lipsticks and Eyeliners
Urban Decay always does a great job when it comes to packaging. The Naked Cherry palette is encased the same way as the Naked Heat but this crimson coloured compact has metallic cherries decorating it. You also get the ever so useful double-ended brush with it. I will admit, I miss having a handy brush like this in the Born To Run palette packaging.
With this range, Urban Decay also created three limited edition lipsticks in beautiful pink packaging with a cherry on. You get Juicy, a light peach-pink with copper micro-shimmer; Devilish, a berry pink with tonal micro-shimmer; and Cherry, a deep berry wine. I was lucky enough to get Devilish for my birthday from a friend so I wanted to include in my review and makeup look (photos below).
ps: the lipsticks retail for R290.00.
You also get two 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils for this look, Love Drug & Black Market (R225.00)
My Make Up Look
This palette is a lot of fun to play with, I can’t wait to create more dramatic looks, but for this post, I wanted to create something that was easy to recreate.
As my base colour, I used Feelz. For a bit of a darker outer corner, I lightly dipped my brush into Drunk Dial to blend it in with Feelz. Just above my lash line, I used Ambitious and for my brow bone, I used Hotspot.
On my lips, I’m wearing the Devilish lipstick and on my lower lashes I’m wearing the Love Drug eyeliner (which is basically a metallic version of Alkaline from the Heat Collection.
This palette retails for R875.00 from Urban Decay stand-alone stores as well as online here.
