Pureology Hydrate Range

The Hydrate range from Pureology is their number one selling haircare range and it’s easy to understand why. One of the downfalls of having chemically processed blonde hair is that it’s so dry. This range is meant to help your hair go from Palm Desert-dry to nourished and thriving.

If you’ve ever read any of my haircare posts, you’ll know that I’m a huge fan of conditioners and usually prefer them over shampoo. Let me just say how impressed I am with this shampoo. It’s a concentrated formula so you only need a small coin size of it. The essential oils in it make it smell so heavenly. The Jojoba oil in it moisturizes your hair while the Green Tea supports a healthy scalp. It also contains Sage which stimulates hair follicles. The reason it smells so good is thanks to the aromatherapy blend of Lavender, Bergamot, and Patchouli. The shampoo retails for R370.00 from leading hair salons and online stores.

If you think the shampoo smells good, wait until you try the Hydrate Conditioner! Like the shampoo, it also contains Jojoba oil; Sage, and Green Tea extracts but the scent is thanks to the Mint and Menthol in it. The Menthol and Mint stimulate your scalp and leave a fresh, tingly feeling. It feels fantastic. This conditioner retails for R410.00.

Last but not least, we have the Hydrate Superfood Treatment which is like a vitamin shot for your hair. It’s deeply moisturizing thanks to the Avocado Oil while the Coconut Oil nourishes. The scent of pineapple; coconut and vanilla makes me think of a smoothie after applying it. This treatment is R515 and a small amount goes a long way.

ps: I also want to shine the spotlight on the fact that Pureology shampoo and conditioner bottles, excluding caps, are created with 95% post-consumer recycled materials. They have also accomplished the following:

• Reduced the amount of water needed per batch in their manufacturing processes and they have reduced the utility energy consumption per bottle
• Reduced waste during the filling and packaging process.

The Body Shop CBD Facial Oil & Day Cream

I received these two products at the end of July and couldn’t wait to try them. Needless to say, they are winners as they’ve been featured now as a favorite for October. The Cbd Hemp Restoring Facial Oil is lightweight but I still only use it at night when I feel my skin needs extra nourishment. It retails for R390.00. The Cbd Hemp Nourishing Day Cream is fast-absorbing and perfect as a day cream retails for R360.00. Both of these products are worth it for me and usually, The Body Shop has exciting promotions if you want to add them to your wishlist.

Catrice HD Liquid Foundation

I’ve chatted about this foundation quite a bit over the years as it’s always been a firm favorite of mine. You can read more on this post. I popped into Dis-chem the other day (who else leaves with more than they had planned to buy?) and saw it there and I’m actually so glad I bought it again. The fact that it is SO well priced and the quality of it just works perfectly for my skin. It gives me such great coverage. It’s R169.95 at Dis-chem.

365 Skin Workout Moisturiser

I’ve tried out some of the 365 Skin Workout Products before, you can check that post out here, however, the moisturiser is new to my beauty desk. I have the Skin Repair Moisturiser from the range that they kindly gifted me and it’s great for when I feel like my skin needs some extra TLC. This is thanks to the fact that it protects the barrier of the skin while moisturising and hydrating your skin.

Books, Books, and More Books

I haven’t updated this series in a while with what I’ve been reading but needless to say, there have been many books these past few months. I’ve just another one in October. I’m going to briefly chat about some of the standout ones for me but let me know if there is one you want to know more about?

First up, a book that is highly spoken of, Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. This book is set in the 1950s and is a coming-of-age book about a young girl abandoned by her parents. She grows up in the marshes and the book explores her story of childhood; isolation; love; mystery and the connection of nature through everything. It’s a novel that truly deserves all the praise it’s been given.

The next book is also a novel that deserves all the attention it gets. Verity by Colleen Hoover is a thriller that I just couldn’t put down. A struggling writer gets the chance to be a ghostwriter for an author she idolizes after she is injured in an accident. She then finds notes by the author that sends you down a path of not knowing what to believe. There is a huge twist right at the end of this book. It’s brilliant!

Girl A by Abigail Dean is another one that I just couldn’t put down. It’s also another one where you finish the book and don’t actually know what to believe of the ending. Girl A is the firstborn out of 7 kids that escaped the House of Horrors. Years later she needs to face that house and her childhood again. It also has a great twist in it.
