[BEAUTY]: Currently Testing #5

I’ve had a few beauty products land on my beauty desk lately so I wanted to share them with you before I take proper time to test them out. Some I’ve already tried in the past few weeks and some still need my full attention but as you know, working full time and all that means my time is a bit limited but I try my best to get to it all and I love sharing my thoughts with you guys on what I test out.

First up, we have the Royal Honey & Kalahari Desert Melon Shampoo and Conditioner from Not Your Mother’s Naturals. First of all this package is so practical, the pump bottles are great for the shower (hands up if you drop your shampoo bottle all the time when you’re trying to get that last bit out). Suitable for damaged hair (ah the joys of being a fake blonde) this blend of Royal Honey and Kalahari Desert Melon helps to reconstruct damaged hair. These products are cruelty-free; uses plant derived ingredients and the bottles are recycable. They are also free 100% free from 100% sulfates; silicone ;phthalates; parabens; gluten and synthetic dyes. It smells great and I’ve enjoyed using both the shampoo and conditioner!

Next is a product that I’ve been using every day since I received it. It’s the EcoBrow in the shade Sharon (which is perfect for dark blondes and light and medium ash brown hair). Along with the brow wax, the EcoBrow Defining Brush is the perfect tool to help create your perfect brows.

From the Aloe Unique brand, they’ve launched some new products that are perfectly suited for our South African summers. The Sun Range from Aloe Unique contains SPF 30 and SPF 50; After Sun Gel; Insect Repellent Gel. This sun care range even includes 4 different lip balms. While I haven’t tried out the sunscreen lotion or the after sun gel yet, the Cherry Lip Balm is on my desk at work and the Vanilla Lip Balm is by my makeup in my bathroom – I’m a fan of both but do love the vanilla one just a tiny bit more.

I’ve tried this REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask a few times now and each time I’m so impressed with the results. Developed to help calm; soothe and moisturize sensitive skin, this mask is creamy in texture and applies so easily. A generous amount is applied to skin for 10-15 minutes and then you can remove the excess with a damp face cloth or some cotton wool pad. This then leaves you waking up with soft and nourished skin. My skin goes red very easily but I noticed a more even skin tone after using this mask.

This Be Still soap from Salt & Glow is another product that Naomis Naturals will be stocking. I haven’t used it yet but I love the packaging. Made with only oils that will help cleanse your skin and not dry it out, you can either lather this soap in your hands or lather it over your body for an exfoliation effect. This soap is enriched with moisturising plant based oils and shea butter, honey and lavender flowers to soothe.

Another product that caught my eye with it’s packaging alone, is the Ultra Pure Vitamin C Serum from Brooklyn Botany (which will also be stocked on the Naomis Naturals website). This serum contains 10% L-Ascorbic Acid  which according to Brooklyn Botany is the purest form of Vitamin C that has been widely researched and established as an anti-aging ingredient and is vital to collagen production. This product can be applied once or twice a day, alone or along with a moisturiser. I will admit, I was a bit apprehensive to test out this product as I was worried how my skin would react but I’ve used it a few times but it’s definitively been gentle on my skin and I’m looking forward to adding it as a permanent feature to my skincare routine.
