As soon as I had spotted this purple baby on international beauty blogs, I was constantly stalking the Urban Decay stores waiting for it to hit our shores. Claiming to give full coverage to any foundation and to help set your makeup – it sounded like the perfect addition to my makeup (and ever growing Urban Decay) collection.
This loose powder is so soft with an extremely luxurious and silky feel to it. Just dust a tiny amount on your hand and you’ll know what I’m talking about. It was created to add an extra velvety feel with a matte finish and added coverage all by adding a tiny amount to your foundation. It is recommended you mix a dime shaped amount to your foundation, now being in South Africa I would compare that to a 10c coin in relation to size but I honestly feel it depends on how much foundation you use etc. So it’s something you’ll need to measure for yourself. The great thing is that you only need a small bit so this product should go a long way, especially if you’re like me and don’t use it daily.
It comes packaged with the usual edge that I’ve come to expect from all Urban Decay products, I mean it has a velvet label and a UD logo sifter! How cool is that? Another cool thing about this product is that it’s vegan and it’s free of oil, parabens, alcohol and fragrances.
I’ve read a few international reviews and most people agree that it can be used on all different types of skin (so it doesn’t matter if your skin is oily or really dry) plus it won’t mess with the colour of your other products.
My one issue with my Urban Decay One & Done was that I didn’t get the right amount of coverage I would want from this product so now I mix a bit of my Velvetizer in when I use it. It can be added to any foundation or BB cream or even worn as a powder.
Would I recommend you buy this product? Seeing as though you only use a tiny bit and it gives you an air-brushed full coverage look, I would say yes! It’s worth it in my opinion and if it’s totally out of your budget I recommend adding it to your birthday wishlists. It retails for R550.00 form Urban Decay stand alone stores.
