Local & Eco-Friendly Gift Guide
December raced and made it’s way to us very quickly! Or am I the only one that feels that way? I can’t believe it’s almost the end of the year and just a few short weeks till Christmas! I wanted to put together a small gift guide that features locally made and eco-friendly gifts for you to help make your Christmas a bit greener. Plus I included gift options for all budgets.

SoyLites Candle
I personally think that a candle is always a great gift. I burn one every day so I always appreciate one as a gift. I’ve chatted about SoyLites a few months ago (click here for that post) and I’m a really big fan of the brand. A great gift choice would be Decadence which is the warm and comforting scent of vanilla, blended with the floral sweetness of Ylang Ylang, resulting in luxurious decadence.
Skin Creamery The Everyday Cream
Suitable for face and body, this cream is made from three key ingredients such as coconut oil; baobab oil and jojoba oil. Safe for those that have sensitive skin and those that are pregnant, this cream is perfect for those that love to look after their skin. I’ve used a few of their products before, you can click here for that post.
You can read more about this cream, which is currently on special on Wellness Warehouse here (while stocks last). Available for purchase here (normal price is R350.00, on special it’s R279.00).
Olgani Mighty Cocoa Toothpaste
Toothpaste, a strange gift I know. But perhaps you have someone in your family that is trying to switch over to more natural products? I’ve been using this toothpaste myself lately and while it takes some getting used to, it works really well. Plus the best way to describe how it looks is like you’ve stuffed your mouth with some chocolate ganache – delicious haha!
The active ingredients, cacao, turmeric, and charcoal, provide an alternative defense against common oral health problems. Turmeric and charcoal help to prevent staining of tooth enamel whilst the cocoa offer a natural substitute to fluoride.
Plus you get a bamboo toothbrush – yay!

Aromadough
Another unusual gift but one that is perfect for those who prefer to have a holistic take on things. The Aromadough can even be bought in 3 pack gift sets. Using a combination of oils, texture, and colours, there is a type for whatever need you might have. Aromadough is a 100-percent natural, silky-feeling aromatherapy ‘stress ball’ infused with a carefully selected blend of pure, top quality essential oils. I personally recommend the De-Stress Aromadough for this time of year. Made with Lavender, Neroli, and Cedarwood to help with hypertension, stress, and tension.
For stockists, click here – R75.00 per unit.
Pure Beginnings Baby Gift Set
One of my favourite gifts to buy for when I attend baby showers, this could be for one of your pregnant friends or someone that has just had a baby. So handy and I’ve heard lots from my friends that do have babies, that they are big fans of these products. A selection of baby must-haves that is perfect as a gift, trial or travel pack.
This set retails for R119.95 and is available here.
Charisma Foundry Oudh Diffuser
Long lasting and a gift that adds a decorative touch to any room, this diffuser is a great gift for any home-maker. The unique artisanal Foundry scented diffuser made from raw resilient materials emits a fresh clean scent with notes of oudh, valued by perfumers for its sweet, woody, aromatic and complex scent.
