Those of you that are Urban Decay junkies like I am, all know that this makeup brand has incredible staying power (Vice Liquid Lipstick I’m looking at you when I try take it off at night) so naturally the brand have gone a step further and created products to not only help you remove your makeup but also to prep your skin before applying your makeup. The packaging from this range is a lot more low-key compared to your usual Urban Decay packaging but it’s suits the effect you get from these products. I’m going to chat about three of these products and which ones I recommend adding to your shopping list.
First up in the Rehab Makeup Prep department, we have the Hot Springs Hydrating Gel. Now I love using a day cream, but often feel it’s too much for my skin (which is normal, not oily) and my makeup kind of ‘slides off’ my face halfway through the day. Enter this hydrating gel. Containing encapsulated water (sourced from a 1,000-year-old hot spring in Japan), this gel instantly hydrates your skin with a slightly cooling effect. It leaves your skin soft, smooth and ready for your makeup. Plus you don’t feel like it leaves an oily residue. The hydration factor from this gel plumps your skin so your makeup goes on better and more evenly. Definitely worth it in my opinion. Plus a little bit of this gel goes a long way, score!

The next product from the Rehab Makeup Prep range is the Pore Refining Peel. Made to help probelm pores with an instant effect. This peel off mask removes impurities and helps leave pores smaller looking. Apply it to your T-Zone and leave on for 10-15 mins and then slowly peel it off. In my experience with this product, you need to apply quite a thick layer to get a decent peel off action. If you really battle with your pores maybe give this a try but to be honest I’m just not the biggest fan of this product, I would rather buy another tub of the hydrating gel for that amount of money.

In the Meltdown Makeup Remover range, there’s the Cleansing Oil Stick which I also highly recommend! It’s a three-phase, oil-based remover that helps remove even the most stubborn makeup. From previous posts you know that cleansing oils and balms are my favourite so I knew I’d be a fan of this easy to use makeup remover straight away. Plus it smells great! Made from turmeric root extract, sunflower seed oil and vitamin E, this remover transforms from a balm to liquid oil to micro-foam leaving your skin clean; refreshed; hydrated yet not greasy and it’s so handy for traveling. While this product is safe for use around your eyes, I have super sensitive eyes thanks to my allergies plus I wear contact lenses so I avoid my eye area with this cleanser.

I’m definitely keen to add the Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover Lip Oil Stick to my basket the next time I’m shopping at Urban Decay, perfect for removing the Vice Liquid Lipsticks in a hurry.
Have you tried any of these products?
