Shimmy, shimmy baby! Introducing the new limited edition Naked Illuminated Trio from Urban Decay! First, before I let you know about the actual product, can we just take a moment to admire this beautiful packaging? I just absolutely adore it! I can’t stop starring at it.
So what will you find in this beautiful little package? Well, how about 3 very pretty looking face and body baked shimmering powders. You’ve got Pyrite (gold-champagne) on the left, Oasis (marbled frosted taupe) in the middle and Twilight (iridescent pink) on the right hand side. Now I know this palette has received a few mixed reviews, but here’s my thoughts on it.
So as you’ll have noticed, I definitely give it an A+ for packaging. The first shade, Pyrite, is a medium, golden brown that shows up well on my fair skin. It’s a pigmented powder with a lot of shine in it. I immediately noticed the gold glitter on my cheeks. So if you’re fair like me, go easy with your brush, but if you’re heading to some awesome beach parties these holidays, go for it! Next I used Oasis to highlight my cheekbones, to me this shade is a bit too sheer, it’s more of just a shimmer than an actual highlighter but can be used to add some sparkle to your looks if you’re wanting to spice it up. Lastly we have Twilight, a pretty peachy pink with a pinkish shimmer that is perfect to adding to the apples of your cheeks and is my favourite of the three.
This brush works well to apply Oasis, but I prefer to use an angled cheek brush to apply Pyrite and Twilight so I have a bit more control. Using a light hand with Pyrite and a heavier hand with Oasis and Twilight, I think you can have a lot of fun with this palette especially now with the festive season.
If you’re thinking of getting this palette (R650.00), just remember it’s limited edition eeeeeeek! You can get it from the Urban Decay store in Sandton or Eastgate.
