So this post was meant to go up in the middle of April, but then April flew past so it’s a bit delayed but hey, better late than never right?

Let get right into it with a new prep spray from Urban Decay called Rebound. I’m a big fan of their B6 and Quickfix prep spray but when I found out that this one has collagen in, I knew it would be a hit with my skin! The collagen-laced, radiance-boosting cocktail not only firms and smoothes your skin plus also provides intense hydration while evening out skin tone. Plus it’s suitable for all skin types. I love spraying this in the morning but since it’s so light-weight, it can be sprayed any time of the day for a pick me up. Also, a small tip I picked up, spray it on your chest as well – your skin will thank you!

The Urban Decay Rebound Complexion Prep Priming Spray is available for R450 from Urban Decay stores (I don’t think it’s on their online store yet).

Next up we have two brushes from The Body Shop. Both are vegan and 100% cruelty-free from their synthetic bristles down to their sustainably sourced FSC wooden handles – how great! It’s my first time using brushes from The Body Shop and I must say, I’m loving the blending brush! The Fan Brush is very soft so I still need to work on my technique with it because I love my highlighters so much but don’t really feel like I get the desired effect when I use this brush.

Each retail for R130.00 and are available online (links are above) or in store.

Another goodie from The Body Shop that I’ve seen a few rave reviews about, is the Matte Clay Foundation which is also vegan. It offers great coverage with a matte finish and is perfect for everyday use thanks to it being lightweight and ideal for all skin types. I’m currently using the 012 shade which ideally would suit my skin but I came back with a bit of a tan from Greece so I’m mixing it with a darker foundation but it should be perfect for winter.

I’m also impressed with the price, R150.00! Available online or in store.

Next, we have the trial pack from Oolala Collection in the Unisex range. This brand is all about affordable luxury, proudly South African products, clean beauty, beauty without cruelty and respecting our planet.

I’ve haven’t tried all the products yet but I’ve enjoyed the 2in1 Deep Facial Cleanser With Toner that is alcohol-free. I read that the Colloidal Silt Ultra Mud Mask can even be used as a hair mask!

Full size products from this range retail for R200.00-R568.00 and are available online here.

Last but not least, we have the Drop Shot Mix-In Facial Oil from Urban Decay. I haven’t tried this product as of yet but I think it will be a winner for combating dry skin this winter.  Ideal for when your skin feels dry,
this mix-in facial oil makes foundation ultra blendable and adds a radiant glow.  Drop Shot contains a nourishing blend of jojoba, sunflower, macadamia, pomegranate, wheat germ, meadowfoam and olive seed oils to condition your complexion.

You can either add a drop to your foundation or even use it on its own.

R450.00 from Urban Decay stores.

I bought the Matte Clay foundation. I love to mix in a drop of facial oil to make it slightly less matte for everyday wear. It also works well mixed with moisturiser for lightweight coverage. I love that I can use one foundation for different looks instead of having to buy different ones. I’ve also found that it applies better with a beauty blender.

I still haven’t tried The Body Shop’s makeup brushes yet, but I’ve read that they’re pretty good. The Oolala products are quite interesting too- never heard of that brand before! x
