[BEAUTY]: Currently Testing #7

It’s a new month, and I’ve got some new beauty products on my desk that have been begging to be tested since the end of last year. Between traveling and work, I’ve only really had a chance to test them out now. As you know, with my previous “Currently Testing” posts, these aren’t my final reviews on the products but more like my first impressions.

First up we have The Body Shop’s Fuji Green Tea Cleansing Hair Scrub. Now I’ve read a bit about hair scrubs from some beauty blogs that I follow, so I was definitely interested in this product. My hair is going through a stage (more like a never ending stage) where it’s been so dry no matter what I do, so I’m hoping this will help sort it out. This scrub shampoo blends Japanese green tea, mint menthol, salt crystals and Community Trade honey from Ethiopia. You mix a tiny amount in your hand with some water after you’ve shampooed your hair and massage it onto your scalp. It’s meant to help revitalise your scalp and remove product build up. It’s a weird sensation when you’re massaging it onto your scalp as it foams like crazy (maybe I used too much). I’ve only used it once but I think I’ll use this product only every now and then as more of just a hair cleanser for product build up.

Next up we have the Lamelle Corrective Hydrating HA Plus. This is a quick absorbing serum that helps plump and hydrate your skin. I’ve found that just one pump of this serum is more than enough to cover your face and neck area. It can be used twice a day if your are really battling with dry skin but I’ve only been using it at night as I feel that’s enough for my skin. The main ingredients for this serum are HAfi Fragments, Hyaluronic acid, NMF boosters, Essential Fatty Acids and soothing Aloe Vera Extract which means that it also helps boost your skins healing properties.

New on my desk as well, is the City Girl Beauty Lipstick in the shade “Paris”. This liquid lipstick is vegan and cruelty free and is made up of plant based and plant derived ingredients. This shade is a pink nude colour and it took a while for me to manage to wash it off my hand after swatching it which pretty much means it won’t budge throughout the day. I’ll let you guys know what I thin about the formula and application of the lipstick soon.

Now we all know how much I love roses, so I was really hoping this British Rose Petal Soft Gel Toner from The Body Shop would have a rose scent, alas, it did not – but do not fear my lovelies, as it has such a delightful floral scent! Yay for anything floral! This toner is infused with rose petals and is formulated without alcohol, making it a hydrating toner and perfect for that extra cleansing of your skin. Plus it has organic aloe vera so it really leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

Last but not least, we have the Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter from NYX Professional Makeup in the shade Liquid Prism. This liquid highlighter has a light reflecting formula and is so easy to apply – you just need to dab a small amount and blend. Plus the intensity of the glow is builable so it al depends on you. I actually think I want to pick up a few more of these shades – I’m thinking Moonbeam; State of Flux and Crystal Glare.
