As I’m settling into my new place, I’m always on the lookout for beautiful homeware. I’m so excited to share more about Aurora Home with you all. Made in Cape Town, this brand is proudly owned and hand-crafted by local women.

About The Brand

Aurora Home is part of the Aurora Creative Studio where unique patterns are made through illustrations. The brainchild of Lize-Marie Dreyer, an award-winning designer, and illustrator, Aurora Home was established in December 2019. The goal in mind was to create products that are one of a kind and differed from the mass-produced products out there for homeware.

What I like About The Brand

The reason why I was so excited to work with this brand was because of the way they operate. Aurora Home is 100% women-owned and is locally crafted. Apart from that fantastic element of the brand, the fact that they are so committed to sustainable principles is amazing. Aurora Home only uses 100% pure cotton and genuine leather. No synthetic fabrics are used because of their harmful effect on the environment. Also, no part of the fabric or leather is discarded, so there is zero wastage in the production process. Aurora Home employs four sewists, which in turn provides much-needed support for local women-owned small sewing businesses.

Products Available

Aurora Home offers the most beautiful aprons. Wearing it actually made me want to be in the kitchen (those that know me, know I’m trying hard to get more comfortable in the kitchen). They also design tea towels; sets of napkins; pot planters and there is even a tapestry available.

Their products are the perfect type of gift for a housearming or a friend’s birthday. You’ll know it’s unique and expertly crafted. Plus you will be supporting local.
