It’s Time For A Long Over Due Chat – March

I’ve been planning on writing this blog post since December. It’s now the beginning of March. It’s been a roller coaster these past few months so grab a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine) and let’s catch up a bit.

New House, New House!

Finally! If you’ve read some of my previous catch-up posts, you would have been along on this house journey with me. It’s been going on forever! There is a twist to the end of the tale though. I didn’t even move into that one that I was building! Yep! Due to delays because of covid and basically because nothing had been down prior to that (it’s still an empty shell), I decided to let go of that dream and move on (literally!).

So in the middle of December, I finally got the keys and moved in. Mind you, all my furniture had been stored in a storage unit; at my parents and even at my office for 18 months. It had been a long time coming.

I had just begun to start settling in, unpacked all my boxes when one night it poured with rain and my house flooded. There was water everywhere! It came up to my ankles in my bedroom (which is carpeted). So it’s been non-stop weeks of repairs and renovations. Let me know if you’d be keen to see some before and afters?

Goodbyes and Changes

The beginning of January was exceptionally hard for me. In one week my best friend had been in a car accident (luckily she was ok); my brother tested positive for Covid-19 (thankfully he recovered) and then the next day we had to make the awful decision to say goodbye to our little Phoebe. She was 10 and a half years old and was the biggest part of our family. Even at her tiny 1.8kgs! I miss her every day and still cry so much for her. It was a few days after that happened that my house flooded. So I was definitely feeling burnt out.

I took some time off from being obsessed with social media and trying to just carry on one day at a time. I took a big interest in finding out what supplements I could take to help my body cope with the stress. I’m so grateful for my partnership with Wellness Warehouse – I’ve learnt so much just from their newsletters alone. Laying Low & What March Brings

Apart from feeling overwhelmed, my family and I were also laying low due to the second wave of Covid-19. So grateful that the numbers have dropped but it was so scary when so many of my loved ones were sick and there was nothing I could do to help them. I can’t get over how much life has changed since last year March!

Having said that, this March is looking up. I’m excited about the small changes I’m making to my house and also socializing a bit more. Obviously, I will still be careful.

I’ve also joined a new private gym to get my health back on track. I needed to mentally be ready to start putting my health first. The fact that I was having to see a chiropractor every week just made me realize how much I carry my stress internally.
