[TRAVEL]: Sterkfontein Dam April 2017

Recently on my YouTube channel, I shared a short vlog with some snip bits from my recent trip to Sterkfontein Dam over the Easter weekend. I wanted to share some more photos with you and just tell you a bit more about where we stayed and what we got up to.

My brother and I joined our close family friends at the Qwantani Resort located on the banks of the Sterkfontein Dam. 43km out of Harrismith, Sterkfontein Dam, is South AFrica’s 3rd largest dam!

Crystal clear waters as far as the eye can see, the weather wasn’t that pleasant so I only spent a short amount of time on the boat. There’s so much to do at the resort though, I went for long walks; relaxed in the chalet and then spent most of my time observing the beauty of the nature of Sterkfontein Dam.

Qwantani Resorts has self-catering chalets that are really beautiful and have everything you would possibly need.

The absolute highlight of my trip, apart from catching my first yellow and muddy fish (it’s catch and release), was spending the morning horse-riding through the mountains. It was such an incredible experience.

I’ll definitely go back, hopefully soon! I’m thinking of going in peak summer so I can jump into the water the next time *mermaid alert*!
