Twenty Twenty
It’s a new year. It’s a new decade. So it’s time to set my goals for 2020. Every year I make new years resolutions and I love posting about them because then I hold myself accountable for trying to achieve them. As much as I love setting new goals for myself at the beginning of the year, I also don’t believe that you need a new year for a new mindset. Decide then and there that you want to make some changes in your life, not only on the 1st of January.
Reflections
As I did with my 2019 New Year’s post, I think it’s always good to reflect on the past year. 2019 was a rollercoaster of a year for me. It wasn’t one of my bests. But even with the bad, there were many good things that happened. I mean, I got to see the Spice Girls live in concert and I explored a new city, London. I also sold my house and bought a new one which is a pretty big deal for me. I’m so excited to move into it soon! I had a lot of celebrations with friends which included some awesome weekends, but it also saw one of my best friends immigrating to Australia which was a huge loss for me. I turned thirty and welcomed this new chapter in my life with open arms. Now it’s time to focus on 2020.
2020 – The Year Of Plenty
A recurring goal in all my New Year posts and I’m pretty sure everyone else’s, is my health. In 2019, I finally started to make some headway in terms of focusing more on what I was putting into my body towards the second half of the year. I turned more towards plant-based eating and will continue to do so. I also began to get interested in exercise again. One of my best friends constantly encourages me and we have the best time when we go for our hikes. I know in last year’s post I said I wanted to do a 5km Park Run but I never did. However, I think a 5km hike is still pretty good? So far, a whole 7 days into 2020 and I’ve been pretty good with going to the gym and going for walks. It’ll become more and more of a routine for me soon.
My second goal for the year is house related. I want to work off as much of my bond as possible while making my new house, my home. It will hopefully be ready in the next few months. I cannot wait to go through all the boxes I’ve packed up in storage and clear a lot of the stuff out. You learn that you actually don’t need half of that stuff. Amen to decluttering – am I right?
My third goal for 2020, is the same as my intention with turning Thirty. I want to level up. I’m just in a mood for change. A mood for growth. I think that’s when you know you are ready for bigger things. You can just feel it.
And Some More Goals for 2020
- Finish the painting I started in 2019 and make more time for my art no matter what
- Practice being patient. This one is inspired by Sivan Ayla, I read her goals for 2020 and realised that not everyone always thinks as I do. I just need to take a deep breath.
- Make more time for my faith. My close friends know I’m pretty religious and I’ve so enjoyed going to church lately, I need to remember how good it feels after and make a conscious effort on the weekends.
- Save more money. Stop shopping Cassidy!
