Well well, if it isn’t the best time of the year already! Gosh, I just love spring and September has always been one of my favourite months, second to my birthday month November of course.
A while ago, and I mean loooong ago, I ran a poll on my twitter asking if you would be interested in more life update posts on my blog. Majority voted yes!
I’ll try not to be too boring 😛
First up, the biggest update and honestly one of the most exciting things to happen to me this year – I’m off to Spain on Monday! My dad bought me this travel journal last year for my birthday as he knew I was saving up to travel as I’m so passionate about it and I didn’t realize I’d be getting to use it on such an exciting trip! I’m meeting up with 2 of my girlfriends, Irina & Alessia and cannot wait to stroll the streets of Barcelona; eat millions of churros; drink sangria and just enjoy this beautiful life we’ve been given.
I will admit, it’s taken me a long time to be able to do this but by saving; working hard and having a goal, I made it happen! Spain here I come baby!
ps: don’t forget to follow me on my social media accounts while I’m away (links to my profiles are on the right hand side).
I love reading, I wish I made more time for it but I love my TV time just as much haha. I recently joined my mom’s book club as it’s with a lovely group of ladies that I’ve grown up knowing so I always have a wonderful time with them. I’m currently reading “Kind Of Cruel” by Sophie Hannah and while it is a very good book, I’ve been struggling to get through it. It’s a thriller, I love thrillers, but it has so much information that you really have to concentrate while reading it. What I mean by that is, it’s not just a book you pick up and ease through to relax, there’s a lot to process. Plus, Sophie Hannah’s writing style is a level higher than what I’m used to, if that makes sense. I love a good challenge though so I am determined to get through this book by the next book club (I’ve had it for months now haha).
“Change happens through movement and movement heals.”- Joseph Pilates
About 6 weeks ago, I joined a Pilates studio right where I live as an attempt to try be active while giving my body time to heal. As some of you know, I battle with my health and felt that I was wasting my time and money at gym as it was just too harsh on my body. I can honestly say that Pilates has already helped me physically in the sense of my body healing and becoming stronger, as well as mentally. I feel more relaxed; more positive; I don’t hold onto as much stress and tension as before. I also wake up in the morning looking forward to my sessions. I cannot wait to see where this journey takes me.
So that’s me in a nutshell right now. This weekend we are hosting my Oma’s 80th (my mom’s family is Dutch that’s why she’s Oma and not Ouma or Granny) at our house, I can’t wait to decorate and then the next day I head off, exciting times ahead.
Thanks for reading, let me know if you enjoyed this type of post?
ps: what books are you currently reading?
