I had originally planned for this post to be a post on my goals for 2023 and then time flew past. And now, we have just started the third month of the year – but guess what, not being too hard on myself is one of my goals. A little rewrite and ‘taaaa-daaa’ now we have a catch up post.
A Look Into 2023 So Far
I ended 2022 the best way possible, an incredible trip to Kenya with my family (which you can read here); Christmas all together and then a fun little weekend away in Dullstroom for New Years Eve with some friends. So I went into the new year, happy and content. I continued the festivities into January but at the beginning of February I decided to make a few changes for myself. A friend motivated me to try hit my 10 000 steps everyday (I don’t hold myself accountable on the weekends though) and to workout 5 times a week.
Now, you’ll know from my previous Catch Up post, I struggle with high cortisol levels so I have to be realistic about my workouts. For the past few weeks I’ve been walking every morning before work; play tennis once a week and try incorporate some low impact strength training. Through setting these health goals for 2023 for myself, I’ve also had to try learn to not be hard on myself when I don’t achieve a 5 star week. I am however proud of how I have been committed. And yes, I’m still obsessed with my weekly tennis sessions.
I’ve been trying to limit my screen time when I go to bed. I say trying, I’m not that successful at it. However, I have been reading a lot more. I’m currently on my 5th book which I’m quite impressed by. Last year I read 15 books while my goal was 12 (1 a month). So this year I thought 18 is a good number to aim for. I’ve been switching between actual books and my Kindle. What are you currently reading?
Now while you’re girl looooves a glass of wine, I’ve had so much fun lately with my new series on my Instagram called “Cocktails With Cassidy”. I look forward to it every Friday and I’m glad everyone has been enjoying it. If there is a cocktail you want me to make on it, let me know?
Anyways, that’s mostly what’s been going on these past few weeks but below is a list of a few of my goals for this year.
Some Small Goals for 2023
- Make a small at-home gym in my garage.
- Stop being so hard on myself.
- Let the unexpected happen.
- Travel; travel and more travel!
- Stick to the routine I’m creating of moving more.
- Creating more content without the pressure of wondering if it’s good enough.
- Putting myself out there more.
- Read 18 books.
Random thoughts for this catch up post – F1 season is back and I’m SO happy! I’ve become such a fanatic over the past year. Who is your favourite driver? I’m now officially pedantic about sunscreen on my face and would love to know what sunscreen you use on your face? I’m going away at the end of the month for just over 3 weeks with my mom and I’m so excited! Can you guess where? It’s somewhere I’ve been before about 13 years ago.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post. I always love writing them. That’s basically it from me. Pop me a message if there is anything specific you want to know or you can comment on the post. I love hearing from you guys.
What do you think?
