When it comes to rose gold, I knew I would forever be obsessed when I bought a rose gold watch 4 years ago. So what’s better than one of my favourite makeup brands bringing out a palette packaged in rose gold? Well, how about 12 new shades!
The Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics is the new home for 12 matte shades. Yes, all matte, well except for the one demi-matte shade for highlighting. It’s exactly what you would imagine Urban Decay would bring out in terms of matte and neutral shades, and more!
Ranging from cool to warm tones, this palette features a colour for everyone. One of my favourite colours is burgundy so I’ve gravitated a lot towards Lethal for adding an edge to my everyday look. If you’re like me and you have blue eyes, then say hello to your new best friend – Extra Bitter, a beautiful burnt orange will definitely make your eyes really pop. While the lighter colours aren’t as pigmented as I had hoped, the darker shades are easy to apply and blend like a dream.
The shades as described by Urban Decay are as follows:
Blow (light nude demi-matte)
Nudie (soft pink-nude matte)
Commando (light taupe-brown matte)
Tempted (pale brown matte)
Instinct (medium pink-taupe matte)
Lethal (reddish brown matte)
Pre-Game (pale yellow matte)
Extra Bitter (burnt orange matte)
Faith (medium warm brown matte)
Lockout (rich neutral brown matte)
Magnet (smoky gray matte)
Blackjack (warm black matte)
For the look I created below, I used the following shades:
Whole eyelid: Lockout
Above my lashes: Extra Bitter
Crease and outer corner of my eyelid: Magnet & Instinct
Lower lash line: Magnet
This beautiful palette can be purchased at the Urban Decay store in Sandton or online here for R850.00
