Born To Run

When this Born To Run palette was launched, I honestly felt like Urban Decay has designed it with myself in mind. This being because as most of you know, I’m obsessed with traveling. With 21 shades that can range from a neutral daytime look to one with a serious pop of colour or a metallic jazz. It is the most ideal travel companion. Even the large mirror is perfect for when all the girls are trying to get ready in the hotel room and there is one tiny mirror available.

From neutral shades to brighter colours for when you’re feeling brave or sophisticated jewel tones for glamorous nights out, Urban Decay has designed this palette to be universally flattering for any skin tone and any lifestyle. As always, I’m a huge fan of how pigmented the shades all are. As much as I love mattes for everyday looks, this palette is perfectly balanced with mattes and shimmers.

The Look I Created

For my look, I used Blaze as my base shade. I then used Wildheart in the outer corners of my eyes and dusted Double Life over it. I used Stranded on my upper lash line and Breakaway as my highlight shade. On my lower lash line, I used Big Sky. 

I used Zero as my eyeliner and Rail on my waterline.

The shades are all as pigmented as you’d expect from Urban Decay – I mean, what’s new?

Thoughts on This Palette

One of the top things I wanted to let you know about this palette, is its value for money! Most of Urban Decay’s palettes have 12 shades and retail for R850.00. This palette, however, is 21 shades and retails for R800.00. As I mentioned, it has a huge mirror which is great for when you are on the run but it is quite a heavy palette because of this fact.
