I can’t believe it’s almost the end of November! My beauty desk has had so many fun new packages, I thought I’d share my first impressions on some of the products I’ve received. As usual, let me know if there’s a product you’d a full review on?
Did you catch last month’s Currently Testing? If not, pop over to this link.
First up we have the Nuxe Nuxuriance Ultra Mask, I fell in love with this product straight away! It’s a roll on re-plumping mask that has a gel-like consistency. I’ve used it a couple of times and I so enjoy the roll-on technique! It’s hydrating and soothing and I especially love using it around my eye area to help soothe my puffy allergy eyes.
R590.00 from selected Woolworths and Truworths.
An old time favourite with some fresh new packaging, this Caribbeantan Skin Hydrating Body Butter is such a treat for your skin. It’s actually formulated to help prolong your self-tan, but I don’t use self-tanner often as I always break out in a rash but this body butter is perfect for applying when you get out of the shower/bath as a normal body butter. The milk and honey scent is a plus for me, as well as the new convenient tube with a flip lid.
R59.95 from Clicks; Dis-Chem; Takelot and selected pharmacies.
A multi-sensorial oil that can be used on your face; body and hair definitely got my attention, plus the packaging is beautiful! This 15 Fruit Xsense from BioNike has a 15% concentration of oils from Italian fruist and is rich in anti-oxidants. I’ve used it a few times on my face and body, but the scent is too sweet for my taste. So I use a bit on my legs at night (my skin gets so dry so I sometimes use a mixture of oil and cream). I’m yet to use this on my hair but I can’t wait to test it out as a hair oil. It sprays a fine mist which is impressive but it’s just the overload of the fruit scent that is too much for me.
R230.00 available at Dis-Chem.
Next we have two products I haven’t tested out yet. Mainly because I only treat myself to a bath now and then in an effort to help save water (ps: when I do have a bath, I use that grey water to flush the toilet), but it’s usually a quick shower everyday. I’ve always been a fan of the Beauty Factory’s Bath Milk ever since the Beauty Factory shops opened so I know I’ll enjoy using this Candy Floss one!
The TheraVine HydraVine Rich Bath Milk is another multi-purpose product that is ideal for dry and dehydrated sensitive skin types. You can use this product in your bath; as a sort of body lotion and even for your hair as a treatment. I’m excited to try it as a hair treatment!

Next up we have the Liquid Vitamin Hydra Mist from Eco Diva, love this product! I’m even considering decanting this into a travel-approved spray bottle for my trip to Bali, that’s how obsessed I am with this product. It’s light and refreshing and is a 2 phase product (aqua and oils), that helps nourish your skin with it’s Vitamin A and Vitamin E base. Plus it’s great for a pick me up through the day.
Another reason I love this product? It’s Organic and locally made! Yay!
R385.00 from Eco Diva
This is the first time I’m trying out some products from the Dr. Gobac Cosmeceuticals range (they are cruelty-free). This is a spot treatment that has anti-bacterial; anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties. As mentioned before, I suffer from hormonal breakouts on my chin area so I’ll definitely be testing it out on those pesky breakouts!
R385.00 available at Drgobac.com
Up next we have the Wet n Wild Lash Renegade Mascara. Pro’s about this mascara? I really enjoy the wand as you’re able to coat your lashes in the inner corner of your eye. Con’s? The formula is a bit too dry for my liking, I don’t really feel I can build up as much volume as I’d like. It’s great though for a simple everyday makeup look plus it’s easy on the budget.
R99.95 from Clicks
Another product that I have a pro and con about is the African Extracts Rooibos Daily repair Facial Oil. Pro, I really felt a difference in my skin the morning after I used this thanks to the cocktail of precious plant extracts and oils. My only con is the scent, there is an ingredient in this facial oil that I just can’t put my finger on and I just don’t seem to agree with scent wise. I honestly just love how my skin feels after using this oil though so I might just have to suck it up for the good of my skin?
R180.99 from Dis-Chem; Clicks; selected pharmacies; Takealot and Zando.
Last but not least, we have the Beaucience Botanicals Moisturising Day Cream SPF 15 in a new tube packaging. Perfect for everyday use to help protect your skin with essential oils needed for anti-ageing. I’m a big fan of the Day and Night Cream (I use it almost every night) so I knew I’d like this day cream.
R179.99 from Wellness Warehouse and selected pharmacies.
That’s a wrap on some of the latest products I’m testing out, let me know if you want full reviews on any of these products?

November 22, 2017The beauty factory product bath milk has a cute bottle. Not a fan of baths unless at a hotel though.
The Wet n Wild Lash Renegade Mascara seems tricky to me… my eyes are small and looks like it would just smudge everywhere.
I tested African Extracts Rooibos Daily repair Facial Oil at Clicks but didnt buy it. It felt really good.
Also loving that 15 Fruit Xsense.
Thanks for this review Cassidy.
