While it’s technically the end of February, I wanted to share some of the products I’ve been testing out this month. Some were kindly sent to me, and some I bought myself so I will let you know with each product for transparency.

Not Your Mother’s Babe Soft Waves Sea Salt Spray

I bought this sea salt spray from Dis-Chem the other day for those days when I don’t want to use heat on my hair but still need a bit of shape. I’ve only used this spray once but I enjoy that it didn’t leave my hair feeling dry and crunchy like some sea salt sprays do. The tropical scent was also a win for me – although it did leave me craving the beach!

The key ingredients are Sea salt which creates texture and aloe-leaf extract which moisturizes. I knew it would be good when I saw it won the Best of Beauty Hair Category by Allure .

R139.95 from Dis-Chem

Essence Camouflage+ Matt Concealer

I bought this concealer on a whim while browsing in Clicks. I didn’t test it properly so the shade is a bit dark but I like to mix it in with my foundation. It provides really great coverage and helps for my dark circles and pigmentation so I’ll buy another one in a lighter shade soon. I think it was about R49.95 or R59.95 (I tried to see on the online store for Clicks but couldn’t find it).

CAKE

Oh boy, I been wanting to try this brand! Some of the products were kindly sent to me to try out. I love the packaging. It’s cute and sweet, just like the products. Obviously, they are cruelty-free and the bunny is proudly displayed on the front of their packaging.

I though they only had hair care products but they also include body care such as hand cream and body milks. I spritzed some of the The Locks Smith Dry Conditioner Spray a few days after I washed my hair, and I love that it gives your hair that extra nourishment and shine (thanks to the Argan oil, Coconut oil and seed oil) before your next wash. I’m really looking forward to using the conditioner with my next wash.

Justine Body Balance

Growing up, I always remember my mom using Justine Tissue Oil. I’m sure many of you do too? I won’t lie to you, I didn’t even know they had a Body Balance range. These products were also gifted to me from the Justine team.

The Body Balance Nourishing Body Lotion is formulated with chamomile and wheatgerm oil, which helps to soothe, nourish and moisturise skin. The Moisturising Lip Balm has already made it’s way to my office to be by my desk!

New In From The Body Shop

While I’ll be posting soon about the new Cactus Blossom range from The Body Shop, I wanted to chat about these 2 products so long. I received a few products from the brand but these 2 are on the top of my list to try out.

First up we have the Himalayan charcoal Purifying Clay Wash. We all know how charcoal is a huge trend at the moment and I think if you battle with skin issues, this face wash will be a big help. According to The Body Shop, this face wash cleanses away dirt and impurities and helps unclog pores.

It’s R140.00 and I’ll let you know my thoughts once I’ve tried it out.

Next we have the Drops Of Youth™ Youth Concentrate Sheet Mask. I absolutely love sheet masks albeit I look super scary with one on. Clearly I watch too many scary movies haha. Enriched with a concentrated dose of the Drops of Youth™ formula, you simply unfold the mask and smooth it on. High five to The Body Shop for making it biodegradable.

I haven’t tried mine out yet, but when I went online to double check prices, I was a bit shocked at the R200.00 price tag! I’ll let you know if I think it’s truly worth it.

Essence Insta Perfect Liquid Makeup

Last but not least, we have the Essence Insta Perfect Liquid Makeup. My friend, Sarah from Mascara and Mimosas first introduced me to this foundation a while ago and the other day I saw it at Clicks and decided to buy it for myself. The Essence Display wasn’t in the best condition so I just grabbed the shade 20 but it ended up being too light. I then bought the shade 40 so I could create my own shade that would suit me. It’s a buildable foundation, so you can choose your coverage. I prefer using it with a sponge (I use the EcoTools one at the moment) as I feel it applies better to my skin than with a brush.

So well priced at R99.95 for a bottle. The actual bottle is so small but you only need one or two drops.
