While I do wish I could say that I spent my one day and night in Dullstroom admiring the views, I unfortunately spent most of the time admiring the inside of the toilet bowl with a horrendous stomach bug. Nevertheless, I did manage to capture a few photos for the two hours that I was present at my friend’s birthday weekend.
A two hour care ride from Pretoria, Dullstroom is the ideal place for a weekend away and is so popular during winter. We stayed at the super fabulous Highland Gate Lodge which is situated on a golf course and has cascading views of the mountains all around you. Each property is very private and the place we stayed at could host 20 people! Plus I’m pretty sure they did all their decor shopping at Coricraft!
Since I didn’t get much of the Dullstroom experience, I definitely need to plan a weekend away there soon!
A week later though I headed to Underberg for a long weekend so I will share more about that trip soon.
Do you have any suggestions of where I should stay when I visit Dullstroom again?
It looked amazing! 😀
I wish I saw more hahahaha 😛
We always stay in guest houses when we visit. The last one we stay in was Fox and Squirrel and it was great. It is on a trout dam and you could go trout fishing. When you visit agian, visit Wild about Whisky. The little bar has an amazing variety of drams to try. Also good is the Bird of Prey centre.
