[LIFE]: Catching Up with Cassidy – JANUARY 2017
It’s been a while since I’ve written one of these posts. Although the end of 2016 was extremely difficult for my family and I, I wanted to begin with a fresh start for this series.
January has gone by in a flash, I didn’t think it would, but it’s now currently 4 days before the end of the month. I know everyone set a few resolutions for the new year, but for me, it was more about setting intentions of what I wanted 2017 to be like.
Instead of putting too much pressure on myself, I set intentions that were personally orientated; work orientated and then in true Cassidy style, travel orientated. I feel there is much more of a positive vibe for everyone this year, and I’m focused on only surrounding myself with people who share this mindset.
So what else does 2017 entail for me? Well, some time out to focus on my well being is a goal. To achieve this, I’m dedicating an evening a week to painting; a Pilates session as well as being more active. I’ve just started a new painting this week, I’ve only done the under painting (a coat to help bind the paint to the canvas) but I’m excited to see how it will turn out.
I’m trying to read as much as possible and have just finished my first book for 2017. It’s called The Ice Child by Camilla Lackberg, a Scandinavian crime writer. Set in Sweden, you can feel the cold weather radiate from each page, you can also sense the dark presence that the book depicts. A thriller, that made me question just how truly cruel people can be, based on the disappearance of young girls from towns near by. Creepy stuff!
We celebrated my brother’s 23rd birthday and have been treasuring each moment with the family. I’ve got some big plans in the pipeline for next year but more on that soon. I’m also planning a few trips this year, small ones but exciting nonetheless.
So that’s my January so far in a nut shell. How is yours going? Any exciting intentions you set for yourself? What are you currently reading at the moment?
