Is it even a surprise that I’m featuring some highlighters on my blog? Noooooope, you guys know how much I love them! Today I’m chatting about three of the NYX Professional Makeup Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powders in shades that you won’t normally think of using as a highlighter.

In the top right corner, we have the Lavender Steel shade which is a soft lavender with pink and lavender duo chromatic pearls. I first started to love the lavender shade as a highlighter with my Strobe of Genius palette so I wasn’t nervous to use this shade at all.Β  My friend, Sarah from Mascara and Mimosas even sometimes uses this as an eye shadow and it look so pretty!

In the bottom left hand corner, we have theΒ Twilight TintΒ which is actually my least used shade, I think this is because its a white base with blue duo chromatic pearls and I usually tend to lean more towards warmer toned shades.

Lastly, we have the Synthetica shade which is described as a pink base with gold duo chromatic pearls but it’s a lot more on the orange side for me. I actually prefer to use this shade as a bronzer/highlighter duo as it’s quite striking.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’m a fan of all of NYX Professional Makeups powders, their formulas are always so soft and easy to blend, plus the are so well priced!

There are 2 other shades in this range, namely the Snow Rose and Crushed Bloom shades – I’m thinking of adding the Snow Rose shade to my collection!

You can get these cruelty freeΒ Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powders for R149.95 from Clicks and NYX Professional Makeup stand alone stores.

  • I’ve just started getting into highlighters (late in the game, I know lol) and I really like how you show all three colors side by side against your skin. Just because they look pretty in the compact doesn’t mean the shade is going to go well with your makeup and I wouldn’t have really known that otherwise. I’ll have to keep an eye out for these next time I’m at Target, they’re so pretty!
