Matsimela, the Sotho word for “roots” perfectly depicts what this brand is about, going back to the roots of the products. Their home spa range is inspired by their passion for botanical ingredients indigenous to Africa. Plus they try to empower the members of rural communities by sourcing their ingredients through them.
This was the first time I was trying out some of their home care products and it’s a fantastic brand in my opinion!
I tried out some 3 products from the Litchi & Rose range as you all know how much I love anything rose related. Plus I knew the litchi element would add a fresh scent for spring time.
The first product I tested was the Litchi & Rose Kalahari Salt Scrub. This exfoliating scrub leaves your skin felling soft and smooth, plus it smells divine with it’s litchi and rose scent. While sugar scrubs are usually more gentle on your skin (the particles are smaller than salt particles), I found that this slat scrub wasn’t too abrasive on my skin. I mean you obviously want to give it a good scrub but I like stepping out of the shower with my skin still intact haha.
Another fab thing about this product? It’s only R85.00 for 350g – score!
After giving my skin a good old scrub, I slathered on this Litchi & Rose Body Butter. While it’s not necessarily an everyday body cream as it’s really think, it’s great for those nights when you want to pamper your skin. It works really well on dry skin as well! The reason why its has such a ‘buttery’ texture is becasue it’s got 10% shea butter as an ingredient.
Another great price of R100.00 for 200ml
A lightweight hand cream with the sweet litchi and rose scent, this tube is next to my bed for me to apply a thick layer on before I go to sleep. I love a good hand cream and this ones ticks the box for me!
R85.00 for 100ml
Have you tried any Matimela products?
