When it comes to lipstick colours, I tend to be drawn to the nudes, light corals and lately the dusty pinks. This is pretty evident in what I recently picked up from LA Girl on one of my Dis-Chem shopping trips. Although I loved all the colours available, I had to be honest with myself on what colours I would actually wear often.
Another firm favourite lately when it comes to lipsticks, is the matte finish. I never used to like the matte look but now I love it, especially when it has that creamy matte effect.
So, when I saw these LA Girl Matte Flat Velvet Lipsticks, I just had to get my hands on them!
From left to right is Ooh la la!( a very light nude); Hush (a dusty pink that has become one of my favourites); Sweet Revenge (its a pretty pink coral) and Sunset Chic (a summer coral).
These lipsticks offer a matte finish yet are quite hydrating thanks to the Shea Butter in them. Often Matte lipsticks can be quite drying on your lips and I was worried that was going to be the case with these but luckily not. While you have 26 shades to choose from (from nudes, pinks, purples and even a blue and black shade), you do need to apply a few coats to achieve the full colour pay off.
All in all, at R59.99 from Dis-Chem a pop, I do like these and might go back for some darker colours for autumn and winter!
Have you tried the LA Girl Matte Flate Velvet Lipstick yet?
