I’ve always been a fan of using an oil or cleansing balm to clean my make up off at night, it’s not as harsh as some cleansers and it’s sometimes all that my skin needs. While I’ve never tried a full size of the infamous Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, I have used a tester and can absolutely agree with it’s high ranking in a the beauty world. So when I was sent this cleansing oil to test out, I definitely had high expectations. Spoiler alert… those expectations were met!
Made from the combination of the “Midnight recovery” blend which is Lavender oil; squalene oil & evening Primrose oil, this cleansing oil helps remove make up from the skin; hydrate the skin and leaves it feeling replenished and smooth. The lavender scent also helps give you that “relaxed, ready for bed” element.
0% soap; 0% sulfate and 0% mineral oil.
I use between 1-2 pumps of the oil (they recommend to use between 3-4 pumps but I think that’s a bit too much), massage into dry skin (using either dry or wet hands). They also suggest massaging over your eye area but I avoid this area completely as the oil just doesn’t agree with contact lens wearers. Add water and massage into your skin to emulsify the oil, it will turn into a gentle cleansing milk. Rinse your face and gently pat dry.
You can then follow with your usual facial routine but I usually feel a tiny bit of serum afterwards is enough.
This cleanser retails for R650.00 for 180ml.
Available at Kiehl’s Snadton; V&A Waterfront; Rosebank: Mall of Africa and online.
