Skincare Routine with Dr. Hauschka
I’ve been a fan of the Dr Hauschka skincare brand ever since I started on my journey of being more eco-conscious. I actually haven’t used any Dr Hauschka products in a while, but I’ve been testing out some of their skincare the past few weeks and wanted to share my thoughts.
Quick bit of info – Dr Hauschka has three certification levels: natural, natural with organic portions and organic cosmetics (you can read more here)
Facial Toner
The first step out of these three Dr Hauschka products I’ve been trying is the facial toner. Made with ingredients such as Anthyllis extract which helps your skin to remain balanced and healthy and Witch hazel extract which supports elasticity and helps refine pores.
From previous skincare posts, you’ll know that I’m not a big fan of toners. I’ll use them maybe once a week, but that’s just because I know what my skin needs. Dr Hauschka recommends this facial toner for those that have normal; dry or sensitive skin., but as I’ve mentioned – it all depends on what you think your skin needs.
Having said that though, this facial toner is going to be used a lot more this coming summer as more of a cooling facial mist. Plus it gives that extra clean feeling after using sunscreen etc.
This product retails for R595.00 for 100ml (available here) but if you are like me and don’t use a toner often, I would recommend getting the travel sized version for R195.00 for 30ml (available here).
Night Serum
This product has been favourite to use of out this range so far. I love the sleek packaging and a little bit goes a long way when it comes to this serum. Containing apple fruit hydrosol and apple blossom extract which supports the skin’s natural rhythms as well as witch hazel extracts which help to strengthen and tone the skin. It has a subtle fragrance and you only need to apply a thin layer after cleansing.
Perfect to use under your moisturiser and leaves your skin feeling so hydrated, this Night Serum retails for R685.00 for 20ml (available here).
Revitalising Mask
Last but not least, more of a “treat” product that is great to use once a week is the Revitalising Mask. Helping your skin to glow with a healthy radiance after just 20 minutes. This mask contains Quince seed, anthyllis and chamomile extract which rapidly supports the skin’s processes of renewal. These ingredients also work towards helping to maintain moisture, visibly minimise pores and calm the appearance of redness and irritation. Nurturing jojoba, apricot kernel and wheat germ oils clarify and smooth the skin.
I love using this mask on a Sunday night to “prep” my skin for the week ahead and to pamper it after the makeup etc from events on the weekends.
Available here for R795.00 for 30ml.
