[BEAUTY]: Currently Testing – October 2019 Part 1

What’s On My Beauty Desk This October

In between my trip to Cape Town and Zambia (I’ll have a blog post on that trip up soon but for now you can hop over to my August trip here), I skipped my currently testing for September. As decided on my Instagram poll, which I love doing with you guys, I’m splitting October into 2 parts.

Essence Concealers

Essence Concealers

I swear I go through concealers so quickly that I can’t even keep up. Needing a quick buy, I popped the Essence Stay All Day 16H Long Lasting Concealer in my basket at Clicks but I will be honest with you and let you know I’m not impressed with it. So needing another concealer, I bought the Essence Camouflage & Healthy Glow Concealer for the second time as it’s perfect for everyday wear. Both are under R60.00. If you are looking for an amazing concealer with the best coverage ever, the All Nighter Concealer from Urban Decay is still my favourite. I use that one for events and big nights out.

LCN SPA Bamboo Cuticle Care Pen

LCN SPA Bamboo Cuticle Care Pen

A new favourite for next to my bed, this cuticle pen is amazing!I’ve happily been using it this October with ease. Extracts of bamboo and shea butter in this moisturizing gel give your nails and cuticles super nourishing care to support healthy growth and minimize the dryness. Even my nail tech at LCN commented on how much better my cuticles are. This cuticle pen was kindly gifted to me from the Looking Good LCN team. Available from salons that stock LCN for R260.00

Dermalogica Face Creams

Dermalogica Moisturisers

Those that have read my blog for a while, know that I’m a huge fan of Dermalogica. I even recommend it to those of you that message me for skincare advice. So these two creams were very much appreciated when they were sent to me. The Skin Smoothing Cream focuses on providing
48 hours of continuous hydration and protecting your skin against environmental stress. It contains a dynamic Hyaluronic Acid Complex with Mallow, Cucumber, and Arnica that distributes hydration throughout the skin, helping to lock in moisture for lasting hydration. It’s also formulated with naturally-antioxidant Grape Seed Extract, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Available for R829.00 for 50ml.

Secondly, we have the Intensive Moisture Balance. This cream helps strengthens the skin’s lipid barrier, rebalance the skin’s microbiome and intensely moisturize dry depleted skin. Hyaluronic Acid, combined with Echinacea, Centella Asiatica, and Aloe Vera, locks in hydration to help enhance the skin’s moisture content and reduce the appearance of fine lines. This cream retails for R949.00 for 50ml.

Justine Purely Perfect Creamy Lipstick SPF 15

I received this lipstick in September but it’s only been in October now that I’ve tried it out. A rosy, pink shade that even contains a SPF 15. The creamy formula is also thanks to the botanical oils and vitamin E that it contains. These lipsticks are also very affordable, R89.00 online and from Justine consultants. There is also a wide selection of shades to choose from.

Justine Purely Perfect Lipgloss SPF 15

Who doesn’t love a fabulous lipgloss? This Rose shade just adds a light pink touch to your lips. It’s infused with a plumping complex and jojoba oil for a lightweight finish. Another affordable lip product from Justine at R85.00. See below for a swatch from the lipstick and lipgloss.

Justine Tabasheer Bloom

I’ve tried two of the Tabasheer fragrances from Justine, but this Tabasheer Bloom is perfect for spring with its fruity, floral scent. It has notes of green apple and fresh lemon as well as jasmine, rose and freesia before evolving into a sensual base of white amber and blonde woods. This bottle retails for R365.00 online but in October it’s marked down to R285.00.
